Tutorial 02

 During this week I had to complete specific Unity tutorials. For this week I had to complete the two sections of the Unity Project, these two sections were known as 'Decorating the World' & 'World Interactions - Blocking Movement' 

Working on these Unity tutorials was a new experience. I was a bit confused at first as to which line of tutorials I should follow. In the end I decided to follow the 2D tutorials as I believed the 3d tutorials would be slightly too complex for me to complete.

Admittedly when I first began these tutorials  I experienced a few difficulties, fortunately I didn't have any issues with the setup of my files.

I believe that I will get better as time goes on and I continue these tutorials.

Hi Robbie, I know exactly how you feel. I found the first tutorial for 2D really good and even though I am afraid of making mistakes, it is better to keep going. I cant wait to see how you're getting on

Game Brainstorm

 There are many possible games that I could make for the project  One game that I believe could make for an interesting experience is A dungeon crawler type game, This would be one that has the player endure a dark and grim fantasy dungeon. The dungeon would have a specific aesthetic, whilst there would stone walls, jail cells and perhaps a portcullis and a drawbridge there would also be hints that this dungeon has some sort of magical power which the player must fend off but can see occasionally. Whilst in this vile pit the player would need to fight various horrid monsters, these could include ogres, goblins, orcs, dragons, hellhounds, demons, giant insects and skeleton warriors. In truth any creature from any and all myths and legends could find their way into this dungeon, there could even be a level with a sea monster which has been trapped underwater and now feeds on whatever adventurers it can catch. Game Idea Research

Previously I considered a variety of ideas which I could translate into a full video game. However most of the game ideas were far too big for me to do. I believe that there was a single idea that could work very well. Creating a racing game where you drive about on a long stretch and try to avoid traffic. I firmly believe this would be better for my current skill level. A game with more scale would require more time and likely more members. I also believe this link could explain why my peers could enjoy a racing game One mechanic that I believe would work very well is actually jumping. In the game I used to play you could jump over traffic. This was vital as the longer you played the faster you went. It was a very fun mechanic, seeing a large taxi leap over other cars in a cartoonish manner always brought me endless amusement as a child.
