Reading 08

For this week of reading (Week 8) the main focus was writing introductions and conclusions in an essay. I was grateful that this topic came up as it will be a necessity to learn about these for my chapter. I have learnt various valuable techniques for constructing an introduction and a conclusion to an essay. For example I could begin with a very strong statement on a particular stance. This would no doubt entice the reader and make them wish to read more. I could have my introduction be an attention grabbing statement. This could work wonders, the opening line of  'A Christmas Carol' was "The Marley's were dead to begin with" and it is very highly regarded so this may be the best option. For my conclusion I may briefly summarise my whole work. I have a great deal of experience with this from writing uncountable essays in secondary school. However a new method which I am very interested in trying is offering the reader a question or a challenge I believe this may make my chapter very memorable.

Game Brainstorm

 There are many possible games that I could make for the project  One game that I believe could make for an interesting experience is A dungeon crawler type game, This would be one that has the player endure a dark and grim fantasy dungeon. The dungeon would have a specific aesthetic, whilst there would stone walls, jail cells and perhaps a portcullis and a drawbridge there would also be hints that this dungeon has some sort of magical power which the player must fend off but can see occasionally. Whilst in this vile pit the player would need to fight various horrid monsters, these could include ogres, goblins, orcs, dragons, hellhounds, demons, giant insects and skeleton warriors. In truth any creature from any and all myths and legends could find their way into this dungeon, there could even be a level with a sea monster which has been trapped underwater and now feeds on whatever adventurers it can catch. Game Vision Statement

Welcome to my third post for my game Idea. For my game idea I believe that creating a racing style game would suit me. It may be easier as Unity seems to have My game would fall neatly into the genre of a racing game. My concept for a game would be to have a pizza delivery driver racing through traffic and dodging various obstacles in order to deliver the pizza to a set location before it gets cold. Game genre I believe one of the pitfalls of racing games is that many of them don't have a story. Grand Theft Auto may be one of the most popular racing games but I highly doubt it would be so renowned if not for its story and characters. Although my game definitely wouldn't have a large story like games with a larger budget I do believe the addition of a small scale narrative would assist in enhancing my game. I feel as though players would tend to lose interest fast if there was no goal outside of merely beating a timer. Having a light narrative would help keep the player involved
